Hi

My name is Tom Rogers and I am then website administrator. I invite and wish for you to make full use of this place to make connections. When I was setting it up my sole objective was to make that happen more easily.

OK, we have a robot problem. The mechanical killing machines are killing people and blowing things up. That's a bad thing by the way. But I can stop them with my diagram!

Robotics -> Nanotechnology
Biology -> Synthetic Biology -> Nanotechnology
---> Progress --->
Figure A - Progress

So we both get nanotech. Great! Now let's design our robot killing monsters!

Robot-killing-Monster:
- Infected with highly acidic bacteria that have a very high iron RDA.
- Electrical synapses in the brain, rather than chemical synapses.

Hello, I'm not telling you my name. Or my age. I was on the last forum possibly under another name, I can't remember, but saw the need for an introductory post anyway.

I have come across a somewhat intriguing website over the past few days. Playing around with it and what not.Well the site I am about to introduce to you will actually take your design in photoshop and transer it to valid HTML/CSS without even having to save it as a .jpg,.png, etc! The trick is in naming your layers. If you name your layers correctly, it will generate the css for that specific function. There are many features integrated into t he system as well. Such as lightbox, image hovers/link hovers, and creating sections for drupal to placed in your site.

My website would be impossible without the use of open source code and, for that reason and many others, I love it. The concept of a community who all want to get behind one thing and improve it for everybody else is simply excellent. I do, however, include the word concept in that sentence for a reason - it doesn't always work like that.

So, what's the problem?

I have come to adore OS X and become completely obsessed with Apple's products since I first lay my hands on it last year. So, it is no surprise that I added to my collection this Christmas; this time it was a Time Capsule. Very pleased I was to tare to the wrapping of this morning and notice the text 1TB in the centre of the front. It is a model refurbished by Apple that arrived in like new condition. So, let's dive in head first....

I've already posted my wish-list and hope it gets for-filled but, I was thinking, about what the holiday should mean and how that compares to what most young people. Deep down I know that all I take from it is "stuff that I want" and a chance to have a bit of fun and, don't get me wrong, that's no bad thing! I just think that regardless of what religion you may be (I'm a devout atheist) we should explore more of what it really means.

I want to be a web designer in my future carrier and this theme was the first that I've developed for Drupal. I did enjoy it but had some issues regarding IE. These kinds of bugs in the popular browser, like different padding and width measurements, are a huge problem that anyone who develops for web struggles with everyday.

A lot of people are just catching up with the Web 2.0 way of thinking and, heck, some people are still content with building there sites in the static information driven style that was really the focus of what we refer to as "the first version of the web." Those people need to start riding the wave or will wash up on the beach and, I will share with you a few reasons why:

As Christmas is fast approaching, I thought I'd share my wish-list.

  • Apple Time Capsule - This is a device that is designed to be used specifically in conjunction with Time Machine - a utility included in Mac OS X Leopard. I will be using it as purely a NAS device, print server and, possibly, a wireless router. I have asked for the 500GB model at a cost of £195.00 but am hoping for the 1TB however this would step the price up to £328.00
